80’s, 90’s and 2000’s alt and pop rock.
Inspired by the likes of U2, Pearl Jam, The Police, The Killers and many more, Drop Dead Dreamers came together as a quartet in 2024 to share the soundtrack of their lives with audiences in the NY metro area, and have a great time.
A litte bit about us:
SANDIP AGARWALA: Lead Vocals, Keyboards, Rhythm Guitar
Inspired by Twisted Sister's Stay Hungry, Sandip began performing music at age 4. In college, he was a founding member of a Hindi acapella group. After graduating, a chance beer at Finnerty's led him to team up with Mark Garufi and Fervor, a NYC based 80s/90s/00s cover band with whom he has played for over 20 years. Today, Sandip enjoys sharing his love for the greats such at The Police, U2 and Pearl Jam with audiences near and far.
JP AUGERI: Drums
JP’s love for music started at age 3 when he and his brother discovered his dad’s turntable and record collection, including the Beatles, Cream, Sly and the Family Stone and lots more. He started drums at age 8 playing in school concert bands, marching bands and jazz bands throughout high school, then cover bands in college. He rediscovered his passion for drums in recent years, and inspired by music heroes such as Stewart Copeland, John Bonham, and his dad who still plays guitar in bands around Boston.
DEREK DELISLE: Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Derek started his musical path in grammar school. Inspired by greats like The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Queen, and Phish his passion for music led him to obtain a college degree in music performance. After graduating, Derek played in several bands throughout the New York City area ranging from acoustic top 40 to progressive rock. He continues to share his love of music with others through live performances and teaching.
MARK GARUFI: Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals
Mark grew up in a musical family listening to old standards played on the piano and sung by his mother and uncles. But it was only after hearing those booming basslines by U2 in the 1980s that Mark knew he was destined to play bass. His biggest influences were John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin and John Entwistle from The Who. Adding in years of jazz training and a classical music degree at Rutgers University and Mark was now ready. Mark teamed up with Sandip in Fervor, an NYC cover band for over 20 years and most recently has been a part of an original music trio called Today's Outfit.
